If your bed is the coziest place on earth and the nightstand is a tribute to your bedside etiquette, what are you inspired to keep next to you at night?
Here are the the things currently on my nightstand:
Himalayan Salt Lamp
I love my super cool Himalayan salt lamp that sits on my nightstand.
It’s a large piece of pure Himalayan salt with a small light bulb inside. Besides glowing and looking intriguing, it creates negative ions that help purify indoor air and neutralize airborne things like mold, bacteria, and allergens. Here is a list of salt lamp benefits.
I keep a little green plant on my nightstand to also help purify the air around me.
Here is a list of plants that are good at filtering and purifying indoor air, as researched by NASA.
I have a small diffuser that I use occasionally for a little personal aromatherapy or if I’m feeling under the weather. There are many different diffusers available. This is the one I’m currently using. When I’m not using it, I keep it in the nightstand drawer.
I’m finally starting to read How Yoga Works by Michael Roach, which I’ve had for a few years and never opened. So don’t tell me what happens. 🙂
Check it out if you haven’t already read it!
I use a large Hydro Flask in a Bikram class and I keep a small one on my nightstand filled with plain water, sometimes with 2-3 drops of Thieves Oil or Lemon Oil.
I have a little old-fashioned battery-operated alarm clock with no glowing lights. I don’t use a digital alarm clock anymore after seeing this video, which measured the levels of magnetic radiation coming from a digital alarm clock.
The cord for my earthing sheet runs around the back of my nightstand and plugs into the wall. I wrote about the benefits of earthing here and this is the best site I’ve found explaining the basics of earthing.
Hold The Phone
What’s not on my nightstand is my cell phone or tablet.
Here’s one reason why, and here’s another. I also recommend, Zapped: Why Your Cell Phone Shouldn’t Be Your Alarm Clock and 1,268 Ways to Outsmart the Hazards of Electronic Pollution. (amazon) as well as mobilizemovie.com.
So that’s what’s on mine …What’s on yours?
