We were born in our birthday suit and we get to tailor it everyday. How fun is that?

The health status of our body is mostly an inside job, so we can work from the inside out to achieve our healthiest potential and maintain our beautiful birthday suit for our entire life. There is a magic in getting to know ourselves.

You Can’t Judge a Book by its Cover

You can’t look at someone’s body and know how healthy it is. If someone’s outside is smaller, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are healthy on the inside. And if someone has a larger outside, it doesn’t mean that they are unhealthy on the inside.

Gut Reaction

Hippocrates said, “All disease begins in the gut.” So it stands to reason that good health begins there too. And surprise! We are more bacteria than we are human! (39 trillion bacteria cells to 30 trillion human cells, as most recently reported here). Paying attention to our inside helps create our outside and overall health.

Protect Your Microbiome

Our microbiome is the internal ecosystem that houses our bacteria. Consider that 80% of immunity hangs out in our gut, and how we protect it determines the health of our immune system. Optimal health depends on a happy bacterial balance. A healthy gut contains 85% of the good guys and 15% of the bad guys. This is the balance we strive to maintain. And when we tip the scales in favor of the bad guys, we invite fatigue, depression, and overall inflammation.

It turns out that the old sayings, “trust your gut” and “that gut feeling” are more scientific than we might think.There is a primal connection between our gut and brain, so powerful that it is capable of regulating our mood and personal perception of our world. Striving for a healthy inside lends itself to a healthy outside.
