Wherever Life Takes You …

Flying Somewhere Soon?

My husband is an avid flyer with an aversion to baggage claim, so we almost never check luggage. As a result, I’ve learned how to happily travel with carry-on luggage exclusively, while still bringing all my essentials.

The Best Natural Toiletries for Carry-On Luggage

Whether you travel carry-on only, or just want to maximize your packing space, there’s no need to sacrifice your personal routine. I’ve found that solid toiletries are the best way to minimize liquids, while still bringing all my personal items, and never having to check my bag.

Here are some travel-friendly, chemical-free options to consider for your next vacation or business trip:

Toothpaste

No tube required and easy to pack, The Dirt is a great, organic tooth powder for both cleaning and whitening.

Shampoo

For a liquid-free option without sulfites or chemicals, you might consider this all natural shampoo bar. Or for a completely compact option, try the travel size shampoo bar. Lather it up in your hands first, then apply to wet hair. It doesn’t produce a lot of lather like regular shampoo, but it does a fantastic job and its completely natural.

Conditioner

Solid conditioners make good travel partners. When looking for comical-free options, you might like this one or this one. Both are super concentrated, work well for daily use, and have no harsh chemicals. I never thought this method would work for me, but it does!

Moisturizing Lotion

I am in love with this hard lotion bar from the Made On company. It is a generous moisturizer that applies well anywhere you need it. It comes in a regular size bar and a compact one, and both work well for traveling. You can also rub it on your hands and then run it though your hair for extra hair conditioning on the go. And, it can also be used to relieve symptoms of psoriasis and eczema.“Made On” stands for the date that their products were made, letting your know that your products are fresh, which is great because these are all natural products with no preservatives.

Sunscreen

There are quite a few choices for sunscreen sticks, but for a chemical-free option, I prefer Badger products. They offer natural, organic liquid sunscreens and solid stick alternatives that are easy to throw in your carry-on. Or, you can even make your own “sunstick” here.

Bug Repellant

Great for campers and outdoor enthusiasts, this anti-bug balm and the bug block stick are two natural options that are chemical-free, won’t stain clothes, and offer a better scent than regular chemical bug sprays.

All Things Squeezable

If I’ve forgotten anything, it’s sure to be included here. You will find these tiny squeeze pods perfect for your travel needs. They are travel-size, TSA compliant, leakproof, lightweight, and single-use pods. They are made with natural ingredients, using no harmful chemicals, sulfates, phosphates, or parabens. And they’ve even been torture-tested to insure against leakage.

They offer a variety of toiletry kits, or individual pod packs, including:

The best part is, you can use them and lose them, leaving a bit of room for souvenirs on your return trip home!

Or, if you want to make your own squeezables, here are BPA-free, TSA-compliant, reusable squeeze bottles that you can fill with your own favorite liquids.

Bon Voyage!

Have a Great Trip!
